A nice, antique Louis XV style fireplace from the late 19th century, ca. 1875. Width 140 cm. So not a small one. The frieze has a nicely carved cartouche. Shell-scrolled endblocks on top of massive, curved jambs. Carrara Statué is a selected Carrara for having a soft white as possible marble, no (cold) bleu-grey veins in it. That makes a difference. Masters of sculpture, like Bernini and Michelangelo  were only working with the whitest white Carrara, that's why it is named Statué. Will be delivered with old marble floortiles to make a frontfloor. We have Louis XV style foyer-tiles in stock, to finish the foyer. Best option if you go for a real open fire. Worldwide shipping. A big, beautiful marble fireplace, made out of the blackest-black marble Noir de Mazy and is matching with a vivid, warm orange-red marble. Late 19th century. Belgium. In most optimal condition. Detached, massive columns. Panelled frieze highlichted by façet-lozenges. Noir de Mazy is not quarried but mined at a depth of approx. 70 meters. Pewter "Prismenkanne" wine-bottle "Chur" (Switzerland) 1792 with decor inscriptions. Round shaped with a screw cap topped with a large ring, fitted with a tubular spout, depicting a mark and 1792, with hinged close flap. A shield bears engraved initials of ownership and dated 1814. Nicely aged by time and use.  Worldwide delivery.

Beautiful, large Louis XV-style antique fireplace, made out of a Belgian deep-red-brown, warm toned, marble. Ca.1875. This marble shows the real softiness through curvacous shapes within the fortitude of marble. A nuanced and sensual interplay of beauty and strength. It has a massive frieze with an a-symmetrical cartouche, which makes a mantel always a bit more special. Also shells at the endblocks above the curved jambs.
